Prevent wrong-way collisions before they happen

The WWD-MX system is a cost-effective, comprehensive, and configurable solution for preventing collisions. Typically installed at or near freeway exit ramps—the primary origin of wrong-way events—WWD-MX is a “smart module” design. It can be configured with LED-enhanced signs or beacons to alert wrong-way drivers and encourage self-correction. Multiple signs can be installed along a ramp to help get drivers’ attention before they enter the main roadway. Adding optional radar to a unit further enhances safety; when the radar unit detects a wrong-way vehicle, the system activates the LEDs to warn the driver of their error while triggering actionable email and text alerts to MX Cloud™.​ The WWD-MX system monitors highway ramps 24 hours daily for wrong-way vehicles without interfering with other traffic detection systems. ​

MX Flasher Modules

The R920-MX connected crosswalk system can be equipped with MX RRFB, MX Beacon or MX LED Sign Modules. All Carmanah MX Series flasher modules meet MUTCD Standards for flashing beacons and LED enhanced signage, including MUTCD IA-21 for RRFBs. MX Beacon Modules are available in 12″ (305 mm) or 8″ (203 mm) diameter sizes. MX LED Sign Modules (S5-1 “School Zone Speed Limit When Flashing” sign) are available in standard 24″ x 48″ sizes and more.

MX Power Modules

Four MX Power Module options—available in both solar and AC power—allow MX Series systems to operate reliably in any location. Compact, integrated solar and battery systems can mount to a variety of square and round poles and install quickly. Cabinet-based systems come in compact and standard cabinet sizes, can be powered by solar or AC and can accommodate additional third-party devices.
